Everything you need to know about PushCheck
PushCheck is a push-up accountability app designed for friend groups. Track your push-ups, challenge your friends, and see who actually shows up. Unlike solo fitness apps, PushCheck focuses on friend-group accountability through leaderboards and challenges.
Download the app, log your daily push-ups, and add friends to create accountability groups. Your progress appears on a shared leaderboard, so everyone can see who's showing up and who's making excuses. It's simple: track push-ups, challenge friends, see who shows up.
Yes! PushCheck is 100% free with no ads, no hidden costs, and no premium upsells. We built it for friend groups who want real accountability, not a subscription service.
PushCheck is currently available on iOS (iPhone). Download from the App Store. Android support is coming soon.
Open the app, tap the big "Tap to Check In" circle, and enter the number of push-ups you completed. Your total updates immediately and appears on the friend leaderboard. You can log push-ups multiple times per day.
Absolutely. Create a friend group, invite your crew, and start logging push-ups. The leaderboard updates in real-time, so everyone knows exactly where they stand. Competition breeds accountability.
Create a group, share the invite link with friends, and everyone's push-ups appear on the same leaderboard. You can be in multiple groups at once (work friends, gym crew, etc.). Each group has its own leaderboard and stats.
No. PushCheck uses manual entry because we focus on accountability, not gimmicks. You log your reps honestly, and your friends hold you accountable. It's simple, fast, and doesn't require camera access or sensors.
Yes! PushCheck tracks your daily totals, weekly streaks, and all-time stats. See your progress graphs, identify trends, and watch your numbers climb when your friends keep you accountable.
Leaderboards rank your friend group by total push-ups in a given period (daily, weekly, monthly, or all-time). You can see exactly who's showing up and who's falling behind. Rankings update in real-time as friends log their push-ups.
Streaks count only when you hit your group's daily goal. Consecutive days at or above goal = streak. One lazy push-up doesn't cut it; you hit the number your group set or the streak doesn't move. Your friends can see your streak on the leaderboard, adding social pressure to keep showing up.
An optional nightly notification that calls out whoever in your group has not hit their daily goal yet. The group sets the time (default 9 PM). If everyone hit their goal, no notification goes out. Accountability with teeth.
Yes. Tap any of the past 7 days on the date selector and add or edit your check-in. Older than 7 days is locked. If a backfilled day fills a gap, your streak recalculates automatically.
The group creator is the admin, marked with a crown. Admins can edit any member's check-in within the past 7 days, remove members, and change the group name, challenge, and daily goal. Perfect for running monthly challenges.
The leaderboard has a Total and a Streak toggle. Total ranks by reps. Streak ranks by consecutive days at goal, with ties broken by total reps. Consistency finally gets its own scoreboard.
If you log between 12:00 and 12:15 AM, PushCheck asks whether the check-in is for today or yesterday, so finishing your reps at 11:59 never costs you a streak.
Most push-up apps focus on solo training plans or automatic counting. PushCheck is built for friend-group accountability. We don't care about fancy AI counting or complex workout programs. We care about one thing: seeing who shows up. Leaderboards, streaks, and friend challenges keep you accountable in a way solo apps never could. Here's why we built it this way.
Because talking about working out in the group chat is easy. Actually doing it? That's different. PushCheck makes it visible who's showing up and who's making excuses. Social pressure and friendly competition are way more motivating than tracking alone.
Yes, you can track solo. But PushCheck is designed for friend groups. The accountability angle is what makes it effective. Solo tracking works, but you're missing the core feature: seeing who shows up.
Three ways: (1) Your friends can see if you skip days, (2) Leaderboards create friendly competition, (3) Streaks give you a visual reason to show up daily. It's harder to skip when your crew is watching.
Your data is only visible to friends you explicitly add to your groups. We don't sell your data, show ads, or share your stats publicly. What happens in your friend group stays in your friend group.
Yes, to sync data across devices and participate in friend groups. Account creation takes 30 seconds and only requires an email or Apple Sign-In.
For friend-group accountability, yes. That's the entire product. Most push-up trackers focus on solo training plans (like "0 to 100 push-ups" programs) or automatic counting via camera. PushCheck focuses exclusively on friend-group accountability: shared leaderboards, streaks, and challenges. If you want complex training plans, use those apps. If you want your friends to keep you accountable, use PushCheck.
Yes, that's exactly what PushCheck is. Create a group, set a challenge and daily goal, and invite your friends with an invite code. Everyone's check-ins land on the same leaderboard, so the whole group sees who's hitting the goal and who's slipping. Works for two friends or a whole office.
Apps like Strong, Hevy, or Nike Training Club track all workouts. PushCheck is push-ups only, with a laser focus on friend accountability. We're not trying to be everything for everyone. We're the accountability app for friend groups who want to do push-ups together.
Some apps use your camera or sensors to count push-ups automatically. Cool tech, but it requires setting up your phone, dealing with lighting issues, and privacy concerns. PushCheck uses manual entry because it's faster, more reliable, and doesn't require camera access. Trust your friends, not sensors.
Make sure they accepted the group invite and logged at least one push-up session. Leaderboards only show friends who have activity in the selected time period (daily, weekly, etc.).
Yes! Tap on your logged entry and select "Edit" or "Delete." We trust you to be honest, but accidents happen.
If you genuinely skipped a day, your streak resets. But if you did the work and forgot to log it, you can add or edit check-ins from the past 7 days and your streak recalculates. Honesty is on you. Your friends will notice either way.
In the app, go to your group, tap "Invite Friends," and share the link via text, email, or social media. Friends download the app, create an account, and tap your invite link to join.

Absolutely. We built PushCheck for friend groups like yours. If you have ideas to make accountability better, we want to hear them.
Three ways: (1) Leave a review on the App Store, (2) Share PushCheck with your friend groups, (3) Post your leaderboard screenshots on Instagram and TikTok and tag #PushCheck. Word of mouth from real users is everything.
Yes! Android is on the roadmap. For now, PushCheck is iOS-only. If you want Android support sooner, let us know at apps@teambuddys.com.
Maybe. Right now, we're focused on being the best push-up accountability app for friend groups. If demand is high for other bodyweight exercises (sit-ups, squats, etc.), we'll consider it. But we won't dilute the core focus: push-ups and accountability.
Yes. No plans for premium tiers, subscriptions, or paid features. PushCheck is free because we believe accountability shouldn't cost money.
